How we Service a Car once Sold

GT Cars London Ltd are very proud to sell car fully serviced and as near faultless as humanly possible.

On every service all wheels are removed, tyres checked for nails, screws and uneven wear. All hubs have all corrosion removed and are sprayed with Aluminium spray so they stay well lubricated till next service. All wheels also have all corrosion removed where the fit they the hub and again are lubed with Aluminium spray. All wheel bolts threads also are also lubed with Aluminium spray.

You make ask the significance of this?

The hub is made from steel and the wheel is made from Aluminium. Place two different metals together and add moisture you get a catholic reaction. The builds up corrosion between the wheel and the hub eventually leading to the wheel being stuck on the hub.

Not too bad to remove the wheel in our workshop where we have the heavy duty equipment to so this but having a puncture with this scenario can be a disaster. You can remove all the bolts but still can't get the wheel off the hub. We see this quite lot on cars that have come into stock or new customers cars for service.

The aluminium spray creates a barrier between the wheel and hub and eliminates the happening 100%.

Below are a few example of cars sold and gone through or workshop. Every car is given a thorough checkout and fully under body lube before we hand over to the new owner.

BMW Z4

A full inspection 2 service. This included an oil change of 7 litres with BMW recommended 5W/30 low saps oil. Bosch oil filter, Bosch air filter, Bosch spark plug x 6, Bosch Charcoal cabin filter. The only fault we found on this car was an intermittent one on the front brake wear indicator. We found that the incorrect wear indicator was fitted which was too long and the looping of this cause the error. Correct one fitted and fault was rectified.

BMW's have a CBS service which gives a countdown for all service items. We reset all of these so they now showed a true value so the new owner will have a very accurate state of health of all the cars service items including the annual inspection which is it's MOT.
